In recent weeks, fashion shows have been popping up all over the world as designers show their 2019 Spring/Summer looks. Paris Fashion Week is known for having top designers present their work in unique ways, and collections are remembered and talked about for weeks. Some definite high points of Paris Fashion Week were Chanel’s runway show, as well as Romance Was Born, and Lysandre G.L. They all brought quirkiness and boldness to the runway.
Chanel had models walking barefoot down the runway, wading through sand to show of their spring collection. Many of the pieces included boxy tweed suit jackets paired with layers of chunky jewelry and many accessories. These looks emulated the traditional Chanel style, creating a classic appearance with a modern twist.
Romance Was Born brought fun and colorful style to Paris Fashion Week. The looks were full of edgy yet feminine lines, color blocking, and print mixing. Each bold look was entirely individual, but could easily be identified as coming from the same collection.
Lysandre G.L. showed many intriguing pieces, using unexpected textures and shapes to create a balance between modern and vintage. Many looks in the collection featured ruffles, shear paneling, and unusual prints.
All in all, the designs appearing on each runway felt very fresh and flirty. Ultimately, the looks presented were fun to look at, and can bring a smile to the face of anyone who appreciates fashion.
